TIPS

The Trackstar was engineered to work in machines using a 386 CPU or slower.
Machines using a high-end 486 or speedier CPU may need to have
their CPU cache disabled in order for a Trackstar to be compatible with them.
This may be done directly from your computer's built-in BIOS, or by using the ICD utility.
The fastest machine I've successfully used a Trackstar in was a Pentium II
running at 133 MHz, with its cache disabled. Newer, faster machines may or
may not be compatible. |

• |
The Quadlink was specifically engineered to be compatible with an IBM PC XT
machine, with an 8088 CPU running at 4.77 MHz. Newer, faster machines are
entirely unsupported. |
|
• |
A Trackstar and a Quadlink can peacefully coexist in the same
machine, for double the Apple II enjoyment. |

If you're having trouble getting certain programs working with your Trackstar,
enter high compatibility mode by loading in FPBASIC from the Apple
DOS 3.3 Master disk. For the Trackstar E and Plus, this process can be automated
by the operating software. |
