Not-so-fun facts:

To make the recordings I connect a first-generation large
game.com, running on batteries, to my PC.
•
The game.com I record from was specially modified to clean up the audio output, as the stock hardware
outputs a great deal of static noise which would spoil the quality of the
recordings.
•
Since the game.com isn't shielded against radio interference, I must place
the system in just the right spot to avoid a local radio station bleeding into
the recordings.
•
The audio hardware used in the game.com is so limited, music and audio clips
cannot be played simultaneously. Whenever an audio clip is played, the music
is halted until the clip finishes playing. Therefore, games must be manipulated
into not playing audio clips during the music, else the music will be distorted.
•
Some music can only be cleanly recorded during link play: two game.com systems
connected together via the compete.com cable.
The whole process is a mite inconvenient, to say the least.
